It was Whit Monday, a public holiday — and the perfect excuse for a coastal walk. I decided to walk from Sant Feliu to Sant Pol.
In my previous blog, I mentioned I had planned to go on Sunday, but I didn’t feel like it.
So I told myself I’d go today instead.
Not by car — just walking. Not along the scenic route by the bay (that takes too long), but following the main road.
If you don’t know the area: Sant Feliu has a large bay near the harbour, but also a second bay. Platja de Sant Pol is a bit further along. It has its own atmosphere, with a wide sandy beach and old villas surrounding it.
On the way I took a few photos. Nothing fancy or postcard-worthy — just little things I noticed: colours, textures, shadows. I love that kind of detail.
When I arrived in Sant Pol, I saw the beach was already quite full. That’s what you get on a public holiday. But it made me realise again how lucky I am that the beach in Pineda is usually calmer. I really wouldn’t want to be here in the height of summer when it’s packed.
But for today, it was fine. I found a spot under a parasol, went for a swim, sat in the sand and took it all in. Paddleboards, kayaks, people snorkelling — a beautiful scene.
By lunchtime I was hungry. There are plenty of places along the boulevard where you can sit and eat. I found a nice spot with a sea view and ordered pan con tomate, some prawns and mussels. It was just right for that moment.
After lunch, another swim, a little sunbathing, and later in the afternoon I walked back home.
Tomorrow the regular workweek starts again. I want to try going for morning walks — maybe heading to the Cala and starting my day with a swim.
It’s a peaceful way to begin, and good movement too.
And yet I wonder — even with this blog post:
Isn’t this a bit too much like an influencer without depth?
Does it still fit with my stories? Or is it just another beach day post?
I’m not sure. But I’m sharing it anyway.
Maybe you recognise that feeling too.
